Suncoast Automotive Performance manufactures a full line of Performance Functional Ram Air Hoods, Ram Air Intakes, and cold air intakes. Suncoast Automotive Performance took over operations of Suncoast Creations in 2006. Suncoast Ramairhoods are made from the highest quality fiberglass, steel, and ISO resins using only Resin Transfer Molding and Hand Lay Up. Suncoast does not use chopper guns.

Why Functional Ram Air? Many companies incorrectly claim to offer Functional Ram Air Systems when they are really only offering an air inlet to the engine compartment. True “Ram Air” hoods require a sealed path from above the hood into the air intake on your engine. While a simple air inlet does offer some engine compartment cooling it does not offer the same performance increases that a Ram Air system offers. A true functional ram air hood improves the performance of your ride in the same way a supercharger or turbocharger boosts the air inlet pressure mechanically. Functional Ram Air uses the forward motion of your vehicle to provide the same boost. Additionally, you’ll experience lower air inlet temperatures, unobstructed air flow into your engine air intake at all speeds, and even lower engine compartment temperatures if heat extractors are incorporated into the hood. This high flow rate of low temperature air at the intake, of course, means increased horsepower and reduced fuel consumption. A lower engine compartment temperature means lower engine temperature and less stress on engine components which ultimately results in longer engine life. Of course, the exact make-up of your vehicle will determine the extent of these benefits but a simple restyling hood or glue on scoop has ZERO possibility of providing any of these benefits.
