Feature Provides All of the Features
of Hypertech's Legendary Power
Programmer, Plus A Whole Lot More!
Performance Tuning
provides all the features of Hypertech's
legendary Power Programmer, including
the most powerful 50 State, Street-Legal
Power Tuning available. There
are two programs; one for regular
and one for premium gas. Diesel
owners can switch between any
of three different horsepower
levels. And for all trucks, Hypertech®
Power Tuning is developed for
the maximum towing weights allowed
by the manufacturer. The Performance
Tuning program also allows adjustments
to:
the RPM rev limiter.
the transmission's shift points
and shift firmness.
the electric cooling fan on/off
temperatures (for cooler thermostats).
the speedometer and odometer to
correct (as required by Federal
Law) for non-stock tire sizes
and/or gear ratios, and...
the vehicle top speed limiter
to match the speed rating of high
performance tires.
The HyperPAC allows a complete
review of all performance selections
on a single screen before reprogramming
the vehicle, or to review currently
programmed selections

Dragstrip
HyperPAC's Drag Strip Feature
Simulates a Real Drag Strip!
Drag Strip simulates
a real drag strip. A "christmas
tree" start produces an exact
duplication of a drag strip time
slip...reaction times, 60 ft.,
330, 1/8th-mile, 1000 ft., and
1/4-mile speeds and e.t.'s.
The HyperPAC
also displays a "magazine-type
road test," acceleration
times in ten mile per hour increments,
zero to 10, 20, 30...mph, 'til
you take your foot out of it!
All test sessions are automatically
saved, for later comparison and
review.

Dynamometer automatically

HyperPAC's Engine Monitor Feature
Continuously Displays Important
Engine Operating Conditions!
An advanced gauge package that
allows viewing of almost any engine
function as an analog or digital
gauge, the Engine Monitor continuously
displays important available engine
operating conditions, like RPM,
ignition knock, oil pressure,
water temperature, and many more,
user selectable from the menu.
With the addtion of your choice
of HyperPAC DA Modules, you can
also monitor critical information
like air/fuel ratio and exhaust
gas temperatures.
And while testing, or to diagnose
a problem, touch "Start Recording"
to record the event, and then
touch "Stop Recording."
All tests are automatically saved
for later comparison and reveiw.

Easy
installation: Just slip the HyperPac
elastic bands over the sun visor, connect
the cable to the vehicle's diagnostic
port, press the power on button, and
choose a program from the Main Menu.

Performance Tuning: · Gain up to 117
HP and 176 ft/lbs of torque (diesel);
45 HP and 57 ft/lbs of torque (gas).

Programmer III on an easy-to-read 3"
x 4" touch panel. The Power Programmer
offers two programs for Gas Engines.
One for regular and one for premium.
Diesel engines can switch between 3

Hypertech is the technology leader in High-performance
engine tuning computer-controlled vehicles.
Electronic engine controls have evolved rapidly
since their introduction in the early ’80s.
Hypertech has kept pace with these rapid advances
in technology by developing power tuning products
that take advantage of the capabilities of
these electronic controls. Early automotive
computers used replaceable PROMs or “chips”
to calibrate the Electronic Control Module
(ECM) for a specific engine, powertrain, and
vehicle combination. Hypertech created the
original Power Chips to recalibrate these
electronic “brains” for improved
performance.
Later generations of Electronic Control Units
(ECU) eliminated calibration chips. Instead,
engine tuning information is stored in the
unit’s programmable memory. In addition
to controlling basic engine functions, microprocessors
now monitor and govern a wide range of systems,
including the transmission, brakes, instrument
panel, emission controls, and heating/air
conditioning. For comparison, the code stored
in an early chip would fill one page; now
a typical ECU contains more than 1,600 pages
of code!
Hypertech created the Power Programmer to
access this “flash” memory and
download the Hypertech Power Tuning program
directly into the ECU’s programmable
memory.
In addition to controlling engine functions
such as air/fuel mixture, spark timing, and
maximum rpm, these highly evolved ECUs also
regulate transmission shift points and firmness,
limit top speed, and display speedometer and
odometer readings. Hypertech engineers were
able to use these capabilities to provide
additional features for enthusiasts. The Power
Programmer is much more than a tuning chip
it is a self-contained automotive tuning
computer. The Power Programmer automatically
installs the powerful Hypertech tuning program.
It also allows enthusiasts to access and reprogram
the vehicle’s computer to function properly
with aftermarket components such as non-stock
wheels, tires, and rearend ratios. A Hypertech
Power Programmer is really the most powerful
and versatile tool a performance enthusiast
can own!
